How Karen and Wendall clinched BBA $200,000 prize

AFTER 91 days of staying very close to individuals from different nationalities and playing the game to the hilt with strategies best known to each housemate, things reached its height.

And it all went down with Nigerian contestant Karen, and Wendall of Zimbabwe, making it home with the grand prize of $200,000 each, making Karen the third Nigerian contestant, after Kevin Pam and Uti Nwachukwu in the history of Big Brother Africa to have won in the final.

The hyperactive Karen, Vina, Sharon O, Wendall, Hanni, Luclay and Lomwe, were the last housemates of the competition. The first among the last seven to be called out at the final eviction was Nigerian contestant, Vina, followed by Hanni from Ethiopia.

After these two housemates were evicted, things became intense in the house with everyone having their heart in their mouth, wishing they were not called. The tension became so much for Sharon O who displayed a last drama when they were asked to stand up and Karen asked her what was going on but she snapped at the latter, showing how tense she was.

Karen, who was in a long flowing gown like her usual self on getting on the stage, was busy shouting and carried on with her care-free attitude, though she might have been jittery, she masked it very well.

Wendall, on his part was afraid about being called and he kept his head hanging back with his eyes shut most of the time.
After, Hanni joined Vina, with the contestants remaining five, Sharon O was the third person to be called and she could not help shedding tears. It was very emotional for her because she could not say much when IK asked her some questions. She thought she would win the grand prize.

Malawian’s Lomwe, follows after Uganda, Sharon O, leaving three, which included Karen, Wendall and Luclay and the guess on who would become the winner was a tough discussion and having worked her way into the heart of many people during her time in the house with her unpredictable behaviour, Karen was left on the stage with Wendall after Luclay from South Africa was asked to join the other housemates that were evicted.

Unlike before, the competition this year had 28 contestants from 14 countries in Africa. This time, a winner emerged in the persons of Wendall Zimbabwe and Karen of Nigeria.
The journey of 27 years old Karen could not help being told because the lady who at the beginning of the show had her nude pictures on the internet was at the beginning condemned by many viewers, especially Nigerians who frown at such.

But the unpretentious Karen, who originally is from Jos, Plateau State before travelling to Europe never had it that good; she was once a stripper in Europe. She also crashed out of a five-years marriage.

The typical Nigerian lady is one of the many, who without their doing but are unfortunate not to have had a father figure in their lives. Karen stands as one of them because she does not know her father and she has some bitterness etched in her heart for not knowing him.

Raised by her grandmother, Karen is like any other street girl and she lived her life on the streets making her street-wise and standing up to the many challenges in the house is one of the things that set her apart from the others.

The heavy criticism from South African Luclay, about Karen flaunting her voluptuous cleavage and body and also insulting her most of the time did nothing to diminish the lady rather, she became more resolved in her quest and she rightly gave it back to him the way it comes and
moved on with her life.
Danny from Kenya, who was evicted in the middle of the programme, described her as the best housemate in the house when he spoke with The Moment Entertainment after his eviction from the house. Though without much ado, Karen Igho could not help displaying the other side of her and she picked on no other person than refined Vina, her co-Nigerian contestant to display her bitchiness to, when she told her (Vina) that she did not like her.

Having won the money, is it a big turnaround for Karen? Is it going to make a better impact in her life? Will the money make a better Karen as many hope it would or will it further help make her weirder?

During the final eviction party, Wizkid, Mo’cheedah, CPwaa, Fally Ipupa, Speedy and Professor coupled with dance steps from Big Brother Amplified dance crew thrilled the audience.
