Zeus: Boipuso Bash line-up unveiled

Zeus says he will perform new music from his forthcoming November album, which he has never performed before. V.S. Oicheke has also announced that he will be playing new material from his forthcoming release, as well as introducing his rap group, The Funds Boys, whose introductory album is already complete, according to V.S.Meanwhile, Juju Boy has vowed to do something out of the ordinary.

The last time he performed at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) during the semi-finals of the Miss Botswana pageant, Juju Boy staggered revellers with his stage works, and he says he plans to pull yet another trick. Scar, one of the few local rappers who seem to be at his best when performing with a live band, said he is excited that the bash has been put together to celebrate the country’s Independence. The rapper cautioned people not to take their country’s independence for granted.

He says he has been to several African countries, which are lagging behind in basic necessities that are often taken for granted in Botswana.

Scar thinks Batswana have every reason to come out in large numbers and club with local artists to celebrate the country’s achievements in the last 45 years.

Bissau Gaobakwe of 63 Entertainment, which put together the concept, says they are trying to work jointly with government to reach out to the youth.

“We are trying to bring back that excitement about Boipuso (Independence celebrations); we would like to see the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture also coming on board; already we have South Africa Tourism supporting this initiative (two lucky winners will be flown to Durban and Cape Town for holiday).
