Vanessa Mutinhiri confirms parent’s divorced six years ago

Mutinhiri is the daughter of ousted Zanu PF Member of Parliament (MP) for Marondera West, Tracy Mutinhiri.

Tracey is the former wife of Brigadier Ambrose Mutinhiri, a Zanu PF heavyweight in the Mashonaland West constituency.

Mutinhiri was unceremoniously kicked out of Zanu PF due to major differences with members especially leaders in her constituency where State Security Minister, Dr Sydney Sekeramai, rules the roost.

She is alleged to have told her constituency to desist from violence and allow MDC-T to operate in the constituency and be allowed to campaign peacefully.

Mutinhiri, a Deputy Minister in President Robert Mugabe’s Government of National Unity is reliably understood to have told several rallies that her boss, President Mugabe, now 87 years old, was “old and should retire” much to the amazement of staunch Zanu PF goons who immediately reported her to the Politburo.

She has since been dismissed from Zanu PF and Dydimus Mutasa, Secretary for Administration in Zanu PF has recommended that she be shown the exit door as a minister in the GNU because she no longer “represents the party which allowed her to stand”.

“I am not really worried about what the media is writing about my parents,” Vanessa said in Harare at the United States Embassy.

“In fact I am strong and did Political Science and know that politics is not a very good idea. I stay out of politics unlike my parents who divorced six years ago.”

Ambrose and Tracey divorced after she refused to give up her seat from the Zimbabwe National Army bigwig.

Ambrose later turned around and accused his former wife of allegedly being a prostitute who could not take care of their daughter, Vanessa.

Meanwhile, the wife of State Security Minister Sekeramayi, Tsitsi, is most likely to grab the Zanu PF MP post in Marondera West after Tracey’s ouster from the former ruling party.

Tsitsi Sekeramayi has already begun embarking on several and important projects for women in the constituency.
