There is reportedly a big rift between Obsessions Ronnie Mulindwa and his chic Sharon O. Sources close to the family have revealed that Ronnie, dad to Sharon’s son Lisbon, is unhappy with the kind of celebrity status his wife is starting to get. We were told; “He has confided in a few friends and is really insecure that Sharon no longer has time for the family. She is up and down doing personal projects.” This is isn’t surprising considering Ronnie was always uneasy while Sharon was participating in the M-Net reality TV show, Big Brother Amplified in South Africa.

The 2011 Zimbabwean representative and co-winner of the Big Brother Amplified (BBA) reality show Wendall Parson, has finally received his $200 000 prize money . Wendall, currently in South Africa, said he received the money on Friday. “I always had faith and I knew MNet would pay me as I never doubted them. I trusted them and that’s why I never bothered calling them,” he said. Wendall’s mother-cum-manager, Gillian Jackson, said it took a long time for the money to be deposited into his bank account because it came from various accounts.

Zambia’s Big Brother Amplified housemate Mumba has been invited and will make a special appearance as a guest star at this year’s festival world class festival. And with the excitement building, the festival organisers have today announced the final acts completing the line-up, including a huge headliner in the form of UK soul legend Beverley Knight! The festival will feature over 80 acts including the very best in Malawian music from Black Missionaries and Lucius Banda, African legends Freshlyground, and the award winning UK act Foals.

Karen Igho of Big Brother Africa, BBA, openly owned up to having done cosmetic surgery. She was the first Nigeria lady to have openly stated that she had a breast surgery. Karen Igho, winner of Big Brother Africa an interview posted on Bunmi Odunowo’s Blog, months back acknowledged that “I’ve got fake boobs? I know. I did. Why should I hide it? It cost me over one million naira and I make good money with it”.  She further added that “investing in my boobs makes me happy and that’s all that counts. I don’t believe I have to be 40 with four kids and sagging breasts before I can get my dream boobs. I’m proud I was able to get the body I desired at 23. It’s the jet age. It’s like getting a Prada purse or buying a house-it makes you happy, so you invest on it. It was worth it. The most important thing is that I am happy about it.”

Big Brother Africa Amplified (BBAA) housemates Zeus (Game Bantsi) and Malawi’s DJ Lomwe (Tendai Namate) have collaborated on a joint mix-tape that is expected to be on the market soon. The 101 Power fm DJ, Lomwe, was in the country last week and the duo shot the video of the hard-hitting first single Double Wowza on Sunday afternoon. They also got into the studio to record another song. Lomwe, a renowned ‘urban music’ artist, believes the project is an offshoot of his great relationship with Zeus in the BBAA house.

Zimbabwe’s Big Brother Amplified winner Wendall Parson sprang up a surprise when he turned up at a house music party accompanied by his mother Gillian Jackson. The gig held at Borrowdale Race Course’s Fusion Nightclub featured the South African top house duo of Ziyon and Dj Ryzor popularly known as Liquid Deep. But Wendall showed his other side as a party animal by getting smashed and wasted in booze in full view of his mother.

It is now one-and-a half months since the Big Brother Amplified (BBA) reality show came to an end but one of the winners of the show, Wendall Parson, is still to get his prize money. For winning the show, Wendall and Karen Igho from Nigeria were supposed to get $200 000 each among other prizes. Earlier communication with Karen showed that she was also waiting for the money from MNet.

Big Brother Amplified flop and Obsessions singer Sharon O Nalukenge was last Wednesday stuck in a traffic jam in Nakawa. Sharon who was in the company of her counterpart Jackie Tusiime sweated plasma when their Toyota Premio UAH 610 V failed to start. They were driving to town when they got held up in the jam at Spear Motors. When the traffic officer released the cars to move, theirs failed to start causing irate drivers to hoot at them. Minutes later a Good Samaritan came to their rescue by starting it for them. But by this time, the beauties were sweating in all corners of the body.

A vibrant, formidable contestant on the just concluded Big Brother Amplified Series, 26 year old Malvina Kwanjap Longpet or ‘Vina’ as she is popularly known by her fans, has received a lot of press since her exit from the Big brother house. This will come as good news to the fans of Mwisho and Meryl after it turned out that Meryl had succumbed to a live kick from Tanzania’s Mwisho. Meryl had initially scared off some of her fans when she was close to Sheila Kwamboka from Kenya. Meryl’s current condition will now put all those fears to rest as the couple looks forward to parenthood. They will also be holding their wedding later in the year to supplement the engagement ceremony they had during the Big Brother Africa 5 house.

One of the winners of the just concluded Big Brother Amplified TV series Karen is in studio and set to release a single any time soon. She was spotted recently in studio with a popular Nigerian producer. However, most of her fans seem to agree that she can do better at acting as opposed to singing. Having watched her for the 91 days she was in the house, the stunts she pulled both in the chat room and in the house, the attack on Luclay and more so with her voice, they seem to wonder what vocals that can come out of it. One Mosala wrote; “But guys we all know Karen can’t sing why is the well known producer even considering recording her, shez a good actor that we saw and loved she should be meeting up with tv producerz hayi music producerz lol KARENOOOO hai no peace.”

MALAWI’s envoy on Bigbrother Amplified Lomwe who in the last weeks of the reality show got captivated by the Zambian beauty and beautician, Kim has denied ever having a sexual encounter with the Zambian diva. Lomwe was reacting through mail to the Times of Zambia that rumours of Kim being pregnant that rocked the internet, a superfluity of accusations pointed towards him as a potential father to be had it been the case. Lomwe says he is happy that the Zambian fan-loving diva is not after-all pregnant; a development that he says has completely vindicated him of all suspicions.

Sharon O has boycotted her motherly duties since she left the Big Brother Amplified House about two months ago. It has emerged that this beauty is always engaged with many deals which are as a result of the fame that she got courtesy of featuring in the Big Brother Africa House. Sadly, her duties of taking care of baby Lisbon have crossed to hubby Ronnie Mulindwa who doubles as the Obsessions boss. It is not clear how he is juggling between changing diapers and managing the group. Sharon is right now in Nigeria where she has teamed up with Vina in search for gigs. Multichoice Zimbabwe have explained delays in releasing 2011 Big Brother Africa Amplified (BBAA) co-winner Wendall Parson’s prize money for winning the reality television show. Parson told reporters in Zimbabwe that he had not received his money by Tuesday when asked what he had done with the US$200, 000 (P1.3 million). The company’s head of Marketing and Communications, Gerald Chinogara revealed that Parson had no bank account in Zimbabwe, hence the delay.

Former Big Brother Amplified housemate Vimbai Mutinhiri is set to launch own range of fragrance before year end. The top model said the as yet to be named fragrance will be for women. Already the production of the fragrance is said to be at an advanced stage and the line will be out in time for the launch. “The fragrance is now at an advanced stage. What is left is for us to test what is the best formula and decide on a name for it,” said an elated Vimbai. She said it was her hope that the fragrance would go international and become a top seller.

BBA winner Karen Igho can’t seem to stop shining as she continues to bask in the glory, glitter and glamour of her rather recent celebrity status that came on the heels of her emerging co-winner of the Big Brother Africa 2011 contest. In a recent interview Karen opened up on her personal life, specifically about her relationship status and her preferences in men. Excerpts:-

However, the much publicised battle of the two rappers was reduced to a night of impressive showcasing of rap talent by the country’s highly gifted rappers.

Big Brother Amplified (BBA) winner Wendall Parson took time out on Sunday afternoon to play drums with orphans from a number of children’s homes in Harare. Wendall was accompanied by Drum Café Zimbabwe which provided entertainment and drums for the children at Harare Children’s Home. Each child was given a drum to play.

The BBA runner-up, who got married to her Australia-based doctor hubby, Dr Joe Chika Anyanwu in December 2010, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl last month in Australia. The baby's name is Ngozi Onyekachi Anyanwu. Congrats Ofunneka!

Sexy Big Brother Africa Amplified housemate, Weza Solange who represented Angola in the just ended 91-day reality show is expected to storm Ghana soon. The TV presenter and model could not make her earlier trip to Ghana as planned because she could not find her passport. Finally, she found the passport Thursday night and is now said to be preparing feverishly to storm the country anytime soon.

Many African designers, without doubt, will not turn down an opportunity to work with top hop hip mogul Jay Z’s Rocawear clothing line. However, Ghana’s representative at the just-ended Big Brother Amplified reality show in South Africa, Alex Biney, has stated that he once blew such a chance. Alex told NEWS-ONE in an exclusive interview that he was back home to establish his Boomaye clothing line.

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe’s gesture to award his country’s Big Brother Africa (BBA)representatives seems to have jolted Malawian politicians and business tycoons to honour the country’s ambassadors as well. So generous is the Zimbabwe president and business captains that they did not only donate $50 000 (about K8 million) to Wendall who won the just- ended BBA Amplified’s $200 000 (about $32.8m) prize alongside Nigeria’s Karen, but they also consoled last year’s losing finalist Munya with a cool $300 000 as consolation. But the windfall has long eluded Malawi’s housemates—Zein Dudha, Code Sangala, Hazel Warren and Mzamose Chibambo—with this year’s finalist Lomwe (Tendai Namate) and evictee Felicia Ngoma receiving K707 000 (about $4 310) and K467 000 (about $2 847), respectively. Although she emerged victorious in the just concluded 2011 Big Brother Amplified held in South Africa, Nigeria’s Karen Igho has been widely criticised for her roles in the TV reality show. The controversial BBA star has attracted more of condemnation than praise from diverse quarters, yet she remains a success story by being the first female and joint winner of the popular reality TV show. She clinched a whooping $200,000 as co-winner of the BBA.

FORMER Big Brother Amplified housemate Kimberly Musonda has denied reports circulating on the Internet that she is pregnant. In an interview with the Weekend Post from South Africa where she together with fellow BBA housemate Mumba Mwakwa were invited for a party, Kim (left) who first started by saying she could not comment on the issue said a woman’s cycle was very irregular and that she was going through a lot of pressure.

Aug 31, 2011 (The Namibian/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) — FORMER Big Brother Africa 3 housemate Thami (Prusent) is on a mission to raise awareness about the disaster in Somalia. The South African reality TV personality is travelling from Cape to Cairo without a cent in his pocket. The aim is to hold fundraisers along the way with money raised going directly to an NGO involved in Somalia aid relief. Thami has been in Windhoek for the last few days, staying with Namibia’s BBA3 housemate, Lucille. He was set to leave for Zambia yesterday. The initiative is the brainchild of Sili Rabbit, “a fresh, inspired and slightly over-the-top urban wear clothing label”. 

Karen Igho, Nigeria’s winner of Big Brother Amplified (BBA6), has openly denied ever posing nude. There have been rumors circulating the internet identifying a female in a certain nude picture to be Karen. In response to this rumor Karen denied being a stripper at any club in the UK and debunked the rumors stating that she had ever posed nude. In her words: “There’s a naked photo going round on the internet that is supposed to me. It’s a lie, it’s not me. It’s the work of photoshop. I have never posed nude and no amount of money can make me want do it. My private body is mine. I wouldn’t want Africa to see me naked. There is also the stories flying around saying that I am an ex-stripper. This is not true. As God don bless me, bad belle people wan bring me down. There are some things I will never do for money and my culture has taught me that. I am very principled”.
