Feature: Vina’s Time!

Image
When Vina was announced Head of House last Friday after she beat the rest of the Headsmates in a multiple choice quiz, she took the opportunity to shine with both hands. Vina immediately changed modes and adopted a totally different dress sense. The Nigerian babe, went for the formal look. As Head of House, Vina set herself apart from the rest of her ‘subordinates’ who keeped things simply as usual. Also, Tails Head of House, Bernadina, who stuck to her usual shorts half the time, was a far cry from Vina’s level.

Breaking News: Lukaren & Mumba Punished

Image
Luclay, Mumba and Karen will forfeit their Decibels for luxury shopping next week for disobeying Big Brother’s rules. During the late morning, Biggie announced that for reasons known to them, Mumba and Luclayhad failed to complete their punishment to build an ice tower. Big Brother added that Karen and Luclay had also ‘acted out’ this week, contravening the respect and tolerance rule of the House. After winning their 100 percent Wager for Art Week on Thursday, this means these three Tailsmates will lose 42 Decibels each.

Head of House: Mumba and Milli’s Turn

Image
Mumba is set for her debut Head of House honour next week while Millicent will be Heads Chief for the second time. After giving the best answers in the guessing game where all Housemates had to guess the number of multi-coloured balls in a large clear plastic bag, the two will be donning the Sheriff badges next week. The only snag is that Millicent is up for possible Eviction this week, so she couldn’t even celebrate fully after Biggie announced her name. Meanwhile, Mumba also forfeited her luxury Decibels for next week after disobeying Big Brother rules. So, Tails are in for a very broke Head of House and it will be interesting to see who will be sucking to her. The Head of House gets automatic immunity from Eviction for one week and has the power to save and replace nominated Housemates.

Daybreak: Luweza’s Long Passionate Kiss

Image
It’s official; Weza and Luclay have a thing going on – what with them kissing for what seemed like forever during the wee hours of Friday morning curled on the couch outside. As if that was not enough, on their way upstairs Weza couldn’t contain herself and pressed Luclay against the wall and kissed him some more. Weza has been adamant that there’s nothing going on between her and Luclay insisting that she’s not even a tad interested in him. Well, Karen had a different view from the onset but as Weza continued downplaying her relationship with Luclay, she was starting to believe her and so was everyone else. Luweza, as they have been affectionately dubbed, waited for everyone to fall asleep before engaging in the tongue wrestling. One would have thought Weza would be a bit reserved in the morning and perhaps try and avoid Karen but, the Angolan lass continued as usual pretending as if nothing had happened. What does Africa think? Will Luweza tell their Housemates how far the

Nic Definitely Got Played by Kim

Image
The Tails mates expressed their shock at Kim managing to play Nic by Nominating him even though they were emotionally involved. Nic was booted out of the game alongside Ethiopian Housemate Danny. Kim was one of the Housemates that Nominated Nic for possible Eviction. Karen was very candid about the fiasco and revealed how amazing it was that Kim managed to reel Nic in emotionally so that he lost sight of the game and then pounced when no one expected it. Karen told Big Brother how Kim opened up to her and told her how her involvement with Nic was all an act. “Even when he left and Kim cried, Kim cried, she told me it was all an act,” a clearly bemused Karen said.

Luclay and Karen Survived- Preaching Danny and Nic evicted from Big Brother house

Image
The survival of the South African, Luclay, caused the audience to erupt into wild celebrations, the ladies leading the screaming THE preaching Danny and Nic were evicted from the Big Brother Africa Amplified show last night. Danny was the first to leave the house. The 34-year-old fashion stylist from Addis Ababa, who was famous for taking time to preach to Luclay until he broke into tears, was evicted. But his new convert survived the axe.

Danny and Nic evicted from the Big Brother House.

Image
Last week five housemates were up for eviction but two of them were not that lucky as their luck ran out on the Sunday night live eviction show in South Africa Karen from Nigeria emerged the strongest of all those who were up for eviction with 31.65% out of six countries that included Angola, Mozambique, Ghana, Namibia and the Rest of Africa and of course her own country Nigeria voting for her.

Breaking News: Luclay Declares Love for Weza

Image
Luclay could not hold himself and poured his heart out to Weza. When it all got too emotional for him, he cried a river of tears. After his stripping session with Alex, Luclay caught Weza off guard and kissed her on the lips. Weza was furious and told Luclay to back off because he has a girlfriend. This started a lengthy session that saw Luclay expressing how much he wants to be with Weza. He revealed how much of a connection they have and stated how emotionally and sexually attracted he is to the Angolan lass.

News: Vina in Lomwe’s Bed

Image
Vina climbed into Lomwe’s bed at around midnight, prompting looks of disapproval from Felicia and Sharon, who called her a bad friend. Vina made herself comfortable in Lomwe’s bed as the two discussed the many airlines that operate in different countries in Africa. As they had their conversation, Felicia walked into the bedroom and was stunned to see the two in bed together. Felicia – who by the way had her bare backside on display for all to see – was taken aback and voiced out her disapproval. Curious Feli tugged at the blankets to see what was going on under the covers. She then called Sharon to bear witness to Lomwe and Vina sharing a bed. The gang laughed it off and Hanni could be seen laughing sheepishly in the background.

News: Miss P is Worried

Image
While the nominated Tails mates got a hair treat on Saturday morning in preparation for their spotlight during the Eviction Show on Sunday, Miss P and Weza had a heart-to heart about their ‘love’ interests. Miss P told Weza that she actually wasn’t sure of how she’d react if Millicent, who kissed Alex in Week 1, would join Tails. Weza said she was worried about how Alex would actually deal with the situation of having two of ‘his’ women in one House.

BBA Amplified: Confidence blames her eviction on ‘conspiracy’

Image
One of Ghana’s representatives for the ongoing Big Brother Amplified reality show, Confidence Haugen who was unceremoniously evicted from the show last Sunday has attributed her eviction as part of the plans of the other Housemates to get her out of the House. According to the 37 year old Aphrodisiac night club owner, she was seen as a threat by the other Housemates and not necessarily because she was rude, bossy or boring as some viewers have suggested. Confidence was evicted last Sunday after spending six weeks in the game.

Breaking News: Nic Massages Karen

Image
Nic gave Karen a lengthy massage in the bedroom, with Kim nowhere in sight. Karen finally got the ‘magic touch’ from Nic, who dishes out massages regularly. With Kim nowhere in the vicinity, Nic poured oil on Karen’s back and rubbed her for close to 15 minutes. Karen looked like she was in heaven and seemed to be enjoying her massage. We wonder where Kim was and are really curious to see what would have happened had she walked in on the innocent massage. Kim has not hidden how insecure she feels every time Nic pays any other girl attention. She recently warned Nic to stay away from Bernadina.

The Confidence Interview: Talks about her days in the BBA house

Image
Nightclub owner and CEO of a MultiMedia Company, 37-year-old Ghanaian Confidence certainly lived up to her name in the BB Amplified house. Sexy and sassy, Confidence could be bossy at times too which had both viewers and housemates loving and hating her in equal measure. On Sunday, she became the seventh housemate to exit the show, The Namibian yesterday chatted to her briefly about her time in the house, future plans and whether she really feeds her dogs chicken …

I Was Not Naked - Confidence

Though what appears to be a photograph of her being nude featured on the front pages of several Ghanaian newspapers, Confidence told a packed news conference at the Golden Tulip Hotel that she never ever showed her nudeness. “I did not go nude and what went on in the House was not a sexual thing, just hilarious.

News: Luclay and Karen Face Off

Image
Shortly after the Friday night Arena Task, Karen and Luclay had a confrontation. Luclay told Karen he was not happy with what Karen told Weza about him. Karen, and everyone else, has been telling Weza stories about Luclay’s aggression towards fellow Housemates before Weza got into the Tails House; events that led into Lotus being disqualified. An argument then ensued between Karen and Luclay, and Karen told him when she made a comment about a short person she was not referring to Luclay because he is not the short person the world.

Head of House: Nic and Vina Triumph!

Image
Vina and Nic beat their fellow Housemates with top marks in the Multiple Choice Quiz. After an intense 20 minutes of brain-flexing, the nervous Housemates waited patiently for the results of the Head of House quiz. This particular HoH task was evidently a bigger deal than normal for the Headsmates, who were all vying for the spot so as to have immunity this Nominations week. Vina in particular seemed panicked at the thought of not getting the HoH nod. She paced frantically and tried to re-hash some of the questions she might have slipped up on. Her fellow Housemates tried to pacify, to no avail.

Feature: Karen Threatened

Image
Seemingly threatened by Weza’s presence in the Tails House Karen quizzed Luclay about where she stood with him. Late Tuesday night, Luclay had to reaffirm his loyalties with Karen as she demanded the 411 on his liaisons with Weza. She admitted that she feared Weza would take Luclay away from her. Luclay answered very awkward questions from his bosom buddy, as she wanted to know if he has feelings for Weza and if he would be pursuing a relationship with her now that they have been reunited in the Tails House.

Task: Worm Pizza For Breakfast

Image
After spending the whole morning without food, worm-infested pizza was served for breakfast in the garden and Wendall won the challenge for Heads while Danny nailed it in Tails. Karen and Luclay also came very close to winning it as they dined with ease, downing the pizza with their coke. Sharon O was immediately disqualified after she tried removing the worms. Meanwhile, Wendall, Lomwe and Vimbai dug in like they were in a restaurant.

Daybreak: No Food Till Further Notice

Image
The Housemates woke up to an announcement that they were not allowed to eat anything until further notice. Danny and Luclay were chilling quietly outside when Alex broke the news to them. However, the guys were just happy to know that they could at least drink anything they want. Danny was excited about this. He told Luclay that they would detox and be healthy. Luclay noted that a lot of Housemates wouldn’t take the ‘starvation’ kindly though. Luckily, none of the Housemates threw their toys when Alex told them the news.

Feature: Girls Aim At Boys

In the Tails House, Karen managed to get all the girls behind her to force out guys and ensure a female winner. On Saturday night she gathered them in the bedroom and asked to stop selling themselves short. On Monday morning, during Nominations, we saw the first fruit of her plan play out in the Chat Room as all the girls nominated guys. Kim even turned her back at her association with Nic and nominated him for possible Eviction on Sunday (18 June).

Nominations: Alex Sacrifices Karen

Image
Karen couldn’t believe her ears when her name wasn’t part of this week’s Nominations but after Alex saved himself, he didn’t bat an eyelid to put the Nigerian Tailsmate up for possible Eviction. This means that Danny, Kim, Nic, Luclay and Karen are up for possible Eviction this week. Danny and Luclay were laughing throughout Biggie’s announcement and once Alex was back from the Chat Room, Mumba called for a stiff drink.

Nomination: Tailhouse

This  Morning the Tails mates had a nomination session.  Apart from Weza who joined the house yesterday, the remaining Eight Housemates did not find it difficult to nominate. Below are the results of the nominations in order of the highest nominations: Luclay got 6 votes. Danny got 6 votes. Kim got 2 votes. Alex got 2 votes. Nic got 2 votes. Mumba got 1 votes. Karen got 1 votes. Miss P got 0 vote. Weza got 0 vote.

News: You Walked Around Naked Nic!

Image
Nic couldn’t believe that he had actually pranced around naked last night after skinny-dipping in the jacuzzi with Miss P, Bernadina and Kim. He asked everyone to confirm if he had actually removed all his clothes in his drunken stupor. Kim had also told Nic earlier how drunk he was and how he kept telling everyone that he had met Big Brother.

Chat Room: Nervous Nominees

Image
The Nominated Housemates each had their ‘final’ Chat Room sessions with Big Brother, where they expressed how nervous they are about tonight’s Eviction’s. There was one common thread throughout all the final Chat Room sessions. All the Housemates were nervous about their fate. With regards to being Nominated, Millicent minced no words and stated how she saw it coming.

Evictions: How Africa Voted- 12 June

Image
This week you voted to save your favourite Housemate, take a look at how the voting week played out. An unprecedented seven Housemates were up for Eviction this week: Confidence, Hanni, Millicent, Vimbai, Vina, Weza and Zeus. Three Contestants received only one country vote out of the 15: they were Weza, Zeus and Confidence. There were three contestants who are tied with 1 country popularity vote each. In such a case the rules of the games stipulate that the contestant with the lowest average percentage votes across Africa will be voted off. Confidence received less votes than Weza and Zeus and was thus evicted.

Live Show: Confidence Sent Packing!

Image
Ghana’s Confidence was sent packing tonight after six weeks in the game. Angola’s Weza was herded off to Tails land. You could cut the tension with a knife when IK called out Millicent, Zeus and Weza’s names. The three were asked to stand so that they could know their fate. When Millicent was told she had been saved, the Kenyan could not believe her ears. She crumbled into a heap and almost burst into tears. “Thank you Africa for saving me,” she cried.

Ernest back in Uganda

Image
The first Ugandan Big Brother Amplified housemate to be evicted from the house is already in town after jetting in yesterday aboard a Kenya Airways flight. He was received by his mom Sarah Wasake, Multichoice officials and two brothers. Ernest was then escorted to Sheraton Hotel where he spent a night. Uganda is now represented by one housemate Sharon Salmon or Sharon O who surprised every one when she emerged the second out of six housemates who were on the chopping board.

Karen's punishment

Image
Karen seems to have forgotten about being punished for her mic transgressions last night.Do the Housemates take their punishments seriously? The pretty Nigerian lass was slapped with heavy punishment yesterday for an unreasonable number of mic infringements and failing to mend her ways after being reprimanded about it.

News: Luclay not happy

Image
After Danny spent close to two hours away from him, Luclay was not a happy camper and let it be known. Luclay went at Danny about him having changed from the person he was before. He revealed how the Ethiopian Housemate had been doing a lot of things differently of late and was not taking Luclay’s feelings into consideration.

Feature: Tails Divided

Image
Tailsmates spent most of their Wednesday evening trying to put out the fire between Luclay and Karen. The two friends tore the House in half, as each of them took a position they were not willing to get out of. Karen maintained her stance that she was not trying to tell Luclay what to do, as a directer, while Otono maintained that Karen was getting involved in matters that did not concern her.

Feature: Karen Runs Riot

Image
After arguing with Luclay, earlier on Wednesday, Karen went on a rampant; dissing everyone she felt was not in her clique. Miss P and Kim were at the receiving end of her verbal diarrhea. She jumped in on Bernadina and Kim’s confrontation, wherein Bernadina asked if Kim felt intimidated by her being around Nic. Even before Kim responded, Karen said, “Of course, she is!”

News: Karen, Luclay Argue

Image
Just 24 hours after Luclay convinced Tailsmates to appoint him as director and acting lecturer, he and Karen had a confrontation. Otono was upset that Karen wanted to tell him what to and quickly abandoned the scene for a smoke. In her defence, Karen said she was not trying to force her will on Luclay, but was just offering her opinion.

Daybreak: Birthday Twins- Danny and Weza

Image
Danny and Weza woke up to a very wet birthday. The two joined their Housemates for the requisite morning exercise while Nic had fun with Katy Perry and his pink pop poms. Birthday girl Weza and Tailsmates Danny celebrate their birthdays today, a day after fellow Gemini’s Mumba and Lomwe, who celebrated his on Saturday night. Upon seeing the cold wet weather, Weza’s spirit wasn’t dampened. She told her fellow Housemates how special it is that it was raining on her big day.

Botswana’s Zeus and six girls nominated.

Image
After Sunday’s eviction where love birds Ernest from Uganda and Bhoke from Tanzania were (un)surprisingly kicked out at the same time from the "Tails" house, it was the turn of housemates in the "Heads" house. "Heads"mates who were free from any eviction exercise last week, woke up this morning to face Big Brother in yet another nomination session; and after the session, the name of 37 year old Ghanaian housemate Confidence came up (twice).

Eviction: I Got Your Back!- Danny

Image
Immediately after the love birds, Bhoke and Ernest, were evicted, there was dead silence in the Tails House. For a while Housemates appeared to have been at a loss of words for what had just transpired. Miss P was relieved that she was safe, but could not get anyone to listen to her going on about her joy of still being in the game.

Eviction: How Africa voted - 5th June, 2011

Image
This week you voted to save your favourite Housemate, take a look at how the voting week played out. Three Housemates were up for Eviction this week: Bhoke, Ernest and Miss P. Miss P, the Housemate who received the most country votes went back to the Tails House. Bhoke received two of the country votes, and was therefore Evicted. Ernest received three of the country votes and was also Evicted. How you Voted: Miss P: 10 country votes – Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa and the Rest of Africa. Ernest: 3 country votes – Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe. Bhoke: 2 country votes – Tanzania and Zambia.

Live Show: Bhoke and Ernest (The Two Lovebirds) Evicted!

Image
Kim cried as Bhoke’s name was announced to leave the House; she (Bhoke) became the third Housemate to be evicted from the House. Luclay wanted to decline Danny’s save and replace, objecting Miss P being to face possible Eviction. Miss P was shocked when she heard that Danny had put her on the chopping block in place of Luclay. Luclay tried in vain to have Danny’s choice overruled, but that decision was final. Miss P then headed upstairs to pack and prepare for the unknown.

News: Mumba vs. Miss P

Image
Mumba told Karen in the morning that Miss P had confronted her alleging that she’s interested in Alex. The fuming Mumba told Karen that she had told Miss P exactly where to get off because she’s not in the Hosue for any relationship. The two agreed that the confrontation explains why Miss P is always snapping at Mumba, it means she’s got beef with her. Could this be one of the reasons why Miss P put Mumba up for possible Eviction when she was Head of House? We’ll wait and see how the dram a unfolds in Tails.

Party: Tails Go Crazy!

Image
The Tailsmates went crazy when Nigeria’s DJ Caise made his appearance at the ‘Fire and Ice’ party. Big Brother also surprised the Housemates with a cockatil bar, where they helped themselves to all kinds of colorful beverages. Its no surprise then that at the end of the party about an hour later, the Housemates were super sloshed. Karen and Mumba quickly familiarised themselves with each others bodies and hopped ontop of each other and started grinding on the floor.

Breaking News: Nic Goes Beserk!

Image
Nic went beserk and cursed his fellow Tailsmates out after they refused to go back into the House. Nic, who had also had a bit to drink, had his hands full trying to reason with the Tailsmates who were on a high. Luclay and Alex, who were hollering at the top of their lungs after hearing their favourite song by US star Kanye West, shouted the lyrics of the track for close to ten minutes, creating a racous.

Confidence Breaks Down In Tears

Image
Aphrodisiac Night Club owner Confidence Haugen, who is representing Ghana in the ongoing Big Brother (Amplified) Africa reality show, broke down in tears this morning when she was going through her chat room session with Big Brother. “I just miss my home,” as she cried inconsolably. Big Brother told her he is sure that everybody back home also misses her too and she only said “I hope so” as she kept crying. “Be strong Confidence, the Big Brother game is never easy,” BB consoled her.

News: Lomwe gets wet

Image
The Headsmates showered Lomwe with a bucketful of cold water as soon as midnight struck, to celebrate his birthday. After plotting and planning most of the night, the Headsmates finally got Lomwe. They sent Hanni to distract him, which seemed to work. Hanni took Lomwe by the hand and told him she wanted to talk to him in private. When the two got outside, Millicent was waiting with a bucketful of water which she threw at the birthday boy – who had no inkling what the Heads had planned.

Lomwe's surprise birthday party

Image
Excitement reigned in Heads as the girls planned a surprise party for Lomwe’s  28th birthday on Saturday morning. After Vimbai received a few supplies from Biggie to help them pull off the surprise, she quickly asked Zeus to help her stash away the stuff from Lomwe. At that time Lomwe was enjoying his breakfast, which he found served on the kitchen counter when he woke up. Vina, Vimbai and Hanni woke up early to start the preparations and were later joined by Confidence.

Vina falling for Lomwe?

Image
Lomwe teasingly asked Hanni to give him a french kiss, prompting Vina to announce she would take her cruches and go inside the House. Was Sharon right about Vina’s crush on Lomwe? Last week, Sharon revealed in one of her Chat Room Sessions that Vina wants Lomwe, despite knowing that he and Hanni have unfinished business. Vina, who probably sensed that many of the Housemates were picking up on it, told Big Brother how she means no harm by flirting with Lomwe.

Big Brother is big business, do you know?

Image
I have often been asked why the organizers of Big Brother Africa are running the show year in year out and now they are at the sixth edition. They also add that it is just a waste of money and time. I laughed because they were not seeing beyond the show. They are only aware that BBA is a TV show. They are not even aware where the sponsorship money is coming from. They see the organizers as people who do not know what to do with their money. What is called in local parlance in Nigeria as “money miss road”.
